2012 Silly Season is Here!
It's July 2012 and nascar silly season is at full speed. What started off looking like Kurt Busch was going to be the biggest free agent turned into a major scramble of rides. It all started when Matt Kenseth announced he is going to leave Roush Fenway, which then he seat was quickly filledbylast year's Nationwide Series champion Ricky Stenhouse. I think we all know that Kenseth is going to fill the 20 ride at Joe Gibbs Racing next year and leaving Joey Logano to either to go to a fourth JGR Toyota or look for rides else where. I believe Joey will have a cup ride, its just where will we end up. Then the whole Aj Allmendinger incedent came up, which brought up Aj's one year contract. If AJ does not return, there are three major canadates for the ride., Sam Hornish, Joey Logano, and Trevor Bayne. I really would love to see Trevor Bayne Move to the Penske Fords (Remember they are Ford in 2013) because Penske and Bad Brad Keselowski can bring him to a whole new level. With bringing Bayne in it gives a number of great things to penske. 1. Trevor Bayne is a young up and coming driver who has cup experience (Remember the 2011 Daytona 500 win) 2. Trevor Bayne would have sponsorship (which is why he is only part time cup series with the Wood Brothers) 3. He won the Daytona 500, you cannot take that away from him. A down side would be that Penske Would have to Kick Bad Brad out of the 22 in the nationwide series to get T-Bayne some more valuable seat time. As the new season kicks off next year I would love to see T-Bayne in the 22 Shell Pennzoil Ford (That's going to be tough to get used to) because i know with his talent and energy I know T-Bayne and the 22 may be a winning combo.
